Sam Dann used the name Mace Hacker for a mystery writer and then as a tv show detective enlisted in a real life investigation. Sam Dann seems to have quite a few pet names that reappear in a lot of his stories. "Melisande", "Chappie" repeatedly. There are a couple of episodes about the legendary Pinkertons as well including "The Pinkerton Method".
Author Charles Dickens is featured in a couple of episodes as a private detective. "Death is Blue" is about a female PI, a Mark Twain episode called " Tom Sawyer, Detective ".
In another episode, a man goes to a private detective to find dirt on the man his sister is going to marry. He believes he is marrying her for her money. It's similar to "Death Is Blue" but its a separate story because the PI is a man, while "Death Is Blue" is a woman PI.
What's your favorite PI or detective-themed Radio Mystery Theater episodes?
